Broadview FCU in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Collections Representative to help members navigate financial challenges while protecting the credit union's health. You'll manage delinquent accounts and pursue solutions that benefit both members and the organization.

Responsibilities include contacting delinquent accounts, handling consumer loan, credit card, and other collection types; maintaining records; applying regulations; coordinating with attorneys and agencies; and delivering strong member

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of collections, customer service, call center, banking, or related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to navigate challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy.
• Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Contacting members regarding delinquent accounts and working toward successful resolution.
• Managing consumer loan, credit card, negative share, and small commercial collection accounts.
• Maintaining accurate collection records and documentation.
• Applying state and federal regulations related to collections, bankruptcy, foreclosure, repossessions, and consumer protection.
• Partnering with attorneys, repossession vendors, and external collection agencies when appropriate.
• Making recommendations regarding repossessions, charge-offs, and collection strategies.
• Delivering exceptional member service while meeting performance and quality goals.
• Supporting department reporting and operational initiatives.
