Job summary

Freedom Mortgage is seeking a Loan Advisor in the Columbia, MD area to serve as an inside sales professional in our Call Center. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, discuss financial objectives, and guide customers through the loan application process.

The role emphasizes excellent communication, strong knowledge of mortgage products, and compliance with regulatory guidelines. A high school diploma and mortgage sales experience are required, with an NMLS/SAFE license or the ability to

Summary

Loan Advisor role is a customer focused, inside sales position within the Call Center. Loan Advisors are responsible for both inbound and outbound calls through various marketing tactics, providing financial solutions and excellent customer service to customers as top priority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyzes applicant information to determine whether the customer qualifies for a beneficial loan program.
  • Assists customers in discussing financial objectives and goals and takes the initial loan application.
  • Clearly communicates the loan program terms and benefits available to the customer as well as the loan process.
  • Ensures all required documents are returned and disclosures are signed in a timely manner.
  • Follows the sales process and QA requirements to remain compliant.
  • Continually meets and/or exceeds the Sales KPI’s set by Management.
  • Is responsive to customers’ needs and expectations.
  • Has excellent communication skills and is clear, concise, and professional when speaking with customers.
  • Is eager to develop knowledge of the mortgage industry, products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma required.
  • At least one (1) year of mortgage sales experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

NMLS/SAFE, at least 1 active license or the ability to be licensed without having to retake the SAFE exam.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and workplace policies; analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, procedures, and governmental regulations; write professional correspondences; write routine business reports; speak effectively with other employees and/or customers; present formal information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees; present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, managers, employees, customers and/or the public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions; solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Work Environment

Work is normally performed in a typical interior office environment that does not subject the employee to hazardous or unpleasant elements. The noise level is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

Employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base pay for this role is the annualized equivalent of $45,000.00 – $45,000.00, depending on experience, qualifications, market location, and other job-related factors. In addition, the role is eligible for commissions based on performance and productivity against commission plan parameters. Benefits include PTO, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company match, life insurance, long‑term and short‑term disability options, FSA/HSA, tuition reimbursement, and other voluntary benefits.
