Job summary

Associated Bank is seeking a skilled Loan Closings Specialist to facilitate commercial real estate loan closings and construction monitoring from due diligence through funding and post-closing follow-up in markets including Dallas, Chicago, Houston, and Minneapolis.

The role collaborates with borrowers, legal counsel, lenders, and title companies to ensure timely, compliant transactions and exceptional customer service throughout the loan lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of customer service experience in a professional office environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial lending, commercial real estate finance, legal documentation, accounting, and/or loan-related data systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate commercial real estate loan closings from due diligence collection through booking and funding.
  • Review and facilitate loan documentation, ensuring closing requirements and conditions are satisfied prior to funding.
  • Partner with borrowers, legal counsel, lenders, title companies, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain transaction timelines.
  • Prepare and review settlement statements, process loan disbursements, and support accurate funding activities.
  • Manage construction loan monitoring activities, including processing equity and loan draws and coordinating due diligence reviews.
  • Monitor post-closing deliverables, follow up on outstanding documentation, and ensure complete and accurate loan files.
  • Maintain data accuracy across loan administration and document management systems.
  • Support compliance with banking regulations, internal policies, and established procedures throughout the loan lifecycle.

CLOSING: Provide facilitation of the loan closing and/or construction monitoring process and superior customer service to the deal team and The Loan Administrator plays a key role in facilitating commercial real estate loan closings and construction loan monitoring activities from due diligence through funding and post-closing follow-up. This position works closely with borrowers, legal counsel, lending teams, and other stakeholders to ensure transactions are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable policies and regulatory requirements. The role also helps deliver a high-quality customer experience throughout the loan lifecycle.

This position is open to the following markets: Dallas, Chicago, Houston, and Minneapolis

Job Accountabilities

Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of customer service experience in a professional office environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial lending, commercial real estate finance, legal documentation, accounting, and/or loan-related data systems.
Preferred
  • 3+ years of loan administration experience focused on construction loan monitoring and/or loan closing.
  • 3+ years of experience reviewing and analyzing credit and loan documentation.
  • 3+ years of commercial real estate due diligence review experience.
