Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seeking an Air Dominance Loads & Dynamics Manager for the MQ-25 team in Hazelwood, MO. You will lead a multi-disciplinary group handling flight and ground loads, flutter analyses, and dynamics work across an integrated product team.

The role requires experience in aircraft loads and dynamics with specialization in flight loads, ground loads, or flutter, plus program management and customer interactions. Relocation and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 5+ years of experience in Loads & Dynamics engineering
• At least one year of leadership experience (team leader, temp manager, large cross-functional project, or formal manager role) or completion of Boeing’s Exploring Leadership course

• Responsible for the overall success of a diverse loads and dynamics team within an integrated product team structure.
• Manage a team of 8-16 employees performing engineering and technical activities in Flight Engineering.
• Develop project plans aligned with program objectives.
• Implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are met.
• Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute product design and development.
• Review plan execution, adjust as needed and resolve issues.
• Monitor metrics to ensure performance to plan.
• Report cost, schedule, and technical performance to leadership.
• Forecast resource needs and participate in hiring decisions.
• Coach and provide developmental opportunities.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)

is looking for an Air Dominance Loads & Dynamics Manager to join our MQ-25 team in Hazelwood, MO.
This manager leads a team of Loads and Dynamics Engineers who conduct Flight Loads, Ground Loads, as well as dynamics/flutter work for the MQ-25 integrated product team.
The successful candidate will have experience with all aspects of aircraft loads and dynamics with deep experience expected in at least one specialty loads area like Flight loads, ground loads, or flutter.
In addition to technical qualifications to cover the product lifecycle, experience with program and customer interactions, as well as cost control account and personnel development collaborations are expected.

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall success of a diverse loads and dynamics team within an integrated product team structure.
• Manage a team of 8-16 employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Flight Engineering.
• Develop project plans aligned with program objectives.
• Implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved.
• Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute product design and development.
• Review plan execution, make appropriate adjustments and resolve issues.
• Monitor appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.
• Report cost, schedule, and technical performance to program leadership.
• Forecast resource needs and make hiring decisions.
• Coach, counsel, and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments.
• Ensure employees are working effectively.
• Provide on-going developmental feedback.
• Enforce company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, and time charging.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 5+ years of experience in Loads & Dynamics engineering
• Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)

• 3+ years of experience leading teams
• Experience with loads and dynamics system requirement verification/validation and military qualification/airworthiness activities
• Experience developing and administering budgets, schedules and performance standards
• Experience with lab, ground and flight testing
• Prior oversight of technical efforts of large or multi-skill teams
• Mentoring or technical lead engineer experience
• Excellent communication skills

Summary pay range: $142,800 - $193,200
