Equipment / Loader Operator
Position Overview

The Loader Operator is responsible for operating various equipment for groundwork and construction. This includes, but is not limited to, positions such as: Equipment Operator (Grade and Pave Crew), Heavy Equipment Operator, Roller Operator, Motor Grader Operator, Concrete Grinder/Milling Machine Operator, Backhoe Operator, Bobcat Operator, Bulldozer/Push Dozer Operator, Concrete Finishing Machine Operator, Asphalt Paver Machine Operator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA safety regulations.
  • Report issues to supervisors or safety personnel.
  • Follow the Foreman's instructions regarding daily tasks.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance and inspections.
  • Assist in training less experienced employees.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-2 years related experience or training, or equivalent.
Work Requirements
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
  • Adhere to safety procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willing to work in a team, travel, and work nights/weekends as needed.
  • Wear PPE as required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and construction materials.
  • Understanding of safety precautions and hazards.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math and read blueprints.
  • Effective communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, manipulate controls, climb, and work at heights.
  • Work in various weather conditions and exert force as required.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to fumes, chemicals, moving machinery, and outdoor elements.
