Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience operating wheel loaders in heavy civil construction.
• Experience operating CAT 938-size loaders or comparable equipment.
• Experience supporting underground utility operations, including storm and sanitary installations.
• Experience handling bedding and backfill materials around active utility installations.
• Ability to operate around deep excavations, trench boxes/shoring, and other heavy equipment.
• Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate loaders to move, stockpile, and place materials during underground utility operations.
• Transport and precisely place bedding material for storm and sanitary pipe installation.
• Support backfill operations, including moving excavated material as trenches are backfilled.
• Safely handle and move pipe, structures, and materials while minimizing damage risk.
• Keep bedding, backfill, and other materials moving efficiently to prevent delays.
• Coordinate with excavator operators, pipe crews, spotters, and supervisors using established hand signals.
