Job summary

Alpine Silica is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate the Loader and other heavy equipment within our plant. You will transport aggregates, feed hoppers or chutes, and stock pile materials while performing routine maintenance and daily safety checks.

You will train new employees, attend safety meetings, and follow supervisor directions to ensure a safe work area. A HS diploma or GED, a Class C license, and Loader experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Possess Class C Driver License.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating a Loader preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
• Operate Loader controls to lower and tilt bucket and drive forward to force bucket into bulk material; Move lever to raise and tilt bucket when filled, or to dump material.
• Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the Loader.
• Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Loader.
• Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
• Operate other heavy equipment and perform other related duties as required.
