Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. in Springdale, AR is seeking an experienced Loader Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will operate loaders on underground utility projects, site development, and earthwork, ensuring safety and productivity while supporting excavation and grading activities.

You will coordinate with utility crews, foremen, and laborers, perform daily inspections, read plans, and maintain organized work areas in compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy equipment operating experience, with loaders on civil construction projects.
• Experience around underground wet utilities (water, sewer, drainage) preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate wheel loaders and other heavy equipment safely on construction projects.
• Load, transport, stockpile, and distribute materials (soil, aggregate, rock, sand).
• Support underground utility crews on water, sewer, drainage installations.
• Assist with excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site prep.
• Maintain grades and material placement per specs.
• Coordinate with foremen, operators, and laborers to stay on schedule.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues.
• Follow all safety policies and utility excavation requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
