Position Summary

The position involves operating a straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with a front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop. The operator will lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, load trucks or railcars, and support mechanical facility work. Adherence to Company Safety Program and Policies is required, along with consistent and reliable attendance.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Starting the engine, shifting gears, pressing pedals, and steering to operate the loader.
  2. Moving levers to lower and tilt the bucket, driving the loader forward to load materials.
  3. Raising and tilting the bucket when filled, transporting to the work site, and dumping materials.
  4. Providing repairs and support services, including general labor, mechanical work, rebuilding pumps, and maintenance.
  5. Performing routine maintenance such as lubrication, fueling, and cleaning.
  6. Ensuring safe operation of equipment.
Position Requirements and Education
  • High School Diploma or GED; and
  • Previous experience with heavy equipment and/or manual labor on plant equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to occasionally lift/move between 25-70 pounds.
