Alleyton Resource – RMC Front End Loader Operator

Pay: $18 - $22 DOE

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The position of Ready-Mix Concrete Front End Loader Operator will be tasked with operating a front-end loader in a safe manner while maintaining a safety-first attitude. This position requires management of resources in adherence to all company standards, policies, and procedures, as well as compliance with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA and TCEQ.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow safety rules, regulations, and procedures set forth by OSHA and Alleyton Resource Co. policies.
  • Safely perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment and work area, complete daily equipment reports, and report unsafe equipment/situations to supervisor or foreman.
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment at all times.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with plant repairs or preventative maintenance when needed.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and work as a team player.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
  • Ability to work in a confined area with other heavy equipment and ground personnel while being aware of surrounding hazards during operation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Prior experience in safe operation of a front-end loader. General maintenance abilities are preferred. Proficient knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.

Computer Skills: General computer knowledge and navigation. Experience with Microsoft Office products and some ability to adapt to other computer software.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Position requires daily on-time attendance during scheduled shifts. Reliable on-time transportation to/from work is of utmost importance. Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Most time is spent outdoors in the enclosed cab of mobile equipment. Occasional outside assignments may require periods of work in all weather conditions, heat, cold, wet, or dry. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, etc. Work areas may often contain poor and unlevel ground conditions and may have noise levels up to 90 dB. Work areas require personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, high visibility vests or shirts, and hearing protection.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders and occasionally deal with heights. Ability to operate hand levers, foot pedals, and steering wheels. Must be able to enter and exit equipment by climbing a 6-step ladder up to 50 times daily. Ability to remain seated in equipment for up to 12 hours daily. Must have hand-eye coordination and vision to safely operate mobile equipment. Ability to read and interpret gauges and use hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers. Bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching are all required. Will be required to lift up to 50 lbs. as well as shovel up to 35 lbs. for up to 10 hours per day. Must be able to safely maintain 3 points of contact when applicable. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees, and managers. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write, and perform mathematics.
