Job summary

Highland Pellets is seeking a Loader Operator to operate front-end loaders and transport bulk materials to processing areas, conveyors, hoppers, or trucks. The role requires lifting, stacking, and adherence to safety standards across outdoor work sites.

Applicants should have at least two years of heavy equipment experience and one year in-manufacturing exposure. Training for loader operation will be provided; expect extended hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years' heavy equipment experience required.
• One year of in-plant manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must complete loader training (written and field).
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps.
• Able to work extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to work outdoors and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials.
• Move levers to lower/tilt/raise bucket and load materials.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks at start of shift.
• Ensure correct materials go to proper bins and blending rates are maintained.
• Maintain clean work areas around bins, belts, and ramps.
• Follow safety rules and regulatory requirements.

• Operates Straight or Articulated Rubber-Tired Tractor-Type Vehicle Equipped with Front-Mounted Hydraulically Powered Bucket or Scoop to Lift and Transport Bulk Materials to and from Storage or Processing Areas, to Feed Conveyors, Hoppers, or Chutes, and to Load Trucks or Railcars: Starts Engine, Shifts Gears, Presses Pedals, and Turns Steering Wheel to Operate Loader.
• Moves Levers to Lower and Tilt Bucket and Drives Front-End Loader Forward to Force Bucket into Bulk Material.
• Moves Levers to Raise and Tilt Bucket When Filled, Drives Vehicle to Work Site, and Moves Levers to Dump Material.
• Performs and Completes All Items Listed on Preventative Maintenance Sheets at the Beginning of Each Shift.
• Ensures the Right Material goes into the Correct Bins and are Topped Off with the Right Blending Rate.
• Keep Area Around Bins Including; Tail Roles, Area Under Belts, and Ramps Free from Debris.
• Keep Radial Pad Clean Including; Chips, Bark, Residuals, and Fines at Appropriate Separate Distance to Limit Contamination.
• Effectively Communicate to All Team Members and Management any Equipment Deficiencies.
• Meticulous Attention to Detail; Able to Follow Instruction Both Written and Verbal.
• Ensure Workers Adhere to Local, State and Federal Codes and Regulations.
• Perform Other Related Duties as Assigned.
