Pay: $18.00- $23.00 Hourly
Summary:
The Loader Operator is Responsible for the operation of front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers and to load trucks.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Safe operation of heavy machinery
•Verify amounts of aggregate in storage bins and fills hoppers to ensure adequate quantity and quality of raw materials is maintained
•Perform routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning
•Participate in making sure the quality and quantity of raw materials meet established standards
•Works toward improvement of the assigned plant and surrounding area
•Follow established procedures to ensure that the plant for which he/she is working is in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and requirements
•Participate in on-going minor maintenance and visual evaluations of plant and equipment
•Confer with plant superintendent, batch person, and other personnel to resolve problems, provide immediate feedback, and may recommend solutions to improve performance
•May haul cement and/or additives from storage area in bulk or bags

•Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position

Qualifications:
Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:
•High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
•Ready Mix plant experience preferred
Skills/Abilities:
•Ability to operate heavy construction machinery and equipment
Working Conditions:
•Operation within a fast-paced environment
•Exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, heavy construction equipment, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions
•Noise level is usually moderate, but can be high and requires personal hearing protection on occasion at job sites, plants and laboratories
•Must be able to work through stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and composure
•Local travel required
•Must wear protective equipment while at the location

•Must be able to stand and move about job sites with uneven and unpaved ground while managing concrete delivery onsite
•Must be able to frequently bend in order to obtain samples from stockpiles or ground, climb ladders with buckets of admixtures, and push wheelbarrows of concrete
•Must be able to operate buttons, levers, and other controls located on various equipment
•Must be able to work long and flexible hours as necessary
