Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a hard-working loader/operator to move bulk materials using front-end loaders and to support production lines in our Tennessee facility. You will operate loaders, perform routine maintenance, ensure quality control, and keep areas clean while following safety procedures.

The role requires basic education, a willingness to work nights/weekends, and the ability to travel as needed. Strong safety discipline and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent (additional experience may be substituted for education)
• Minimum of six (6) months experience operating machinery
• Professional attitude & conduct
• Multi-task, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and time management skills are needed.
• High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in accordance with O&M manual
• Check material (incoming and outgoing) for quality and conformity
• Take material to designated storage area safely
• Load material onto lines and trailers safely
• Keep material stacked neatly and safely
• Must keep up with general housekeeping
• Check oil and fluids daily
• Perform inspections on equipment daily
• Follow all company policies per Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct.
• Follow all company safety guidelines.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and to load trucks or railcars: Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material. Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.

• Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by PRATT Safety and OSHA.
• Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
