Hood River Sand, Gravel & Ready-Mix, a CRH company, is seeking an experienced loader operator to run front-end loaders, excavators, and a water truck as needed in Dallesport, WA. This role requires 1–2 years of loader experience and a willingness to work long shifts during peak season.

You will operate equipment safely, maintain records, support paving and labor crews, and follow OSHA/MSHA/DOT rules. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years wheel loader experience or training.
• Must obtain a valid driver’s license.
• Safety minded with good attendance and punctuality.
• Must pass pre-employment physical exam and drug screening.
• Willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends.
• Must comply with OSHA, MSHA, DOT rules.
• Authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently within designed parameters.
• Maintain safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Perform minor servicing and refer major problems.
• Keep machines clean and maintained.
• Keep time and material records.
• Travel to various locations as needed.
• Assist labor crew including shoveling and daily plant ops.
• Communicate with paving crew about material flaws.
• Take action to avoid hazards or obstructions.
• Other duties as assigned to meet needs.
• Maintain regular attendance.

Position Overview

This position involves the safe and efficient operation of front-end loaders, excavators, and a water truck as needed for business demands. If you’re someone that has 1-2 years’ experience operating loaders/excavators, enjoys working during a busy season, and can work both independently and as a part of a team, this is the position for you.

Wage: $25 - $25.75, Hourly

Location: Dallesport, WA. May be expected to travel as needed for business demands.

Shift: Primarily work 10+ hours per day 5 days per week. Must also have flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed per business demands.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Qualifications:

• One to two years Front-end Wheel Loader experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, and multiply.

• Must obtain a valid drivers’ license.
• Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
• Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing. Per RCW 49.44.240 this position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites.
• Demonstrates the ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
• Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical skills, basic knowledge of aggregate products a plus.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters.
• Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.

• Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
• Travel to and from various locations.
• Assist labor crew including shoveling of materials and daily plant operations.
• Promptly communicate with paving crew on any flaws in material.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
