Job summary

Southland Holdings is seeking a Loader Operator in Austin, TX to operate heavy equipment at highway and civil construction sites, performing grading and material movement. Housing and per diem are provided for operators, with a full benefits package for full-time staff.

Candidates must have DOT experience, 1–3 years of operating experience, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs while complying with safety policies in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Complete paperwork and documentation as needed.
• Assist with other duties around the jobsite.

Duties:

• The Operator's primary function is to operate a Finish Blade, Blade, Roller, and/or Loader at the site of work to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building type structures; equipment operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the jobsite as needed
• Operates a Blade, Roller, Loader, and/or Finish Blade to complete tasks such as grading and move and/or transport materials such as dirt, rocks, and other types of aggregate
• Must have knowledge of operating procedures as it pertains to loading and unloading materials
• May oil, grease, service, and make normal maintenance adjustments on equipment; perform daily safety and maintenance checks; complete paperwork and other documentation as needed
• May perform other related duties as required

Requirements:

• DOT Experience REQUIRED
• 1-3 YEARS Operating Experience
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
• Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
• This job requires the ability to perform essential job tasks in less than favorable job conditions. These may include, but are not limited to: Performing strenuous work in varying temperatures, humidity, sand, wind, or other extreme inclement weather conditions for extended periods of time.
