Austin Industrial, Inc. - We are seeking an experienced Loader – Chemical/Bulk Handler based in Channelview, Texas. This position requires a Valid TWIC Card and a Valid Driver’s License. It is a maintenance role working 4x10 shifts plus occasional overtime, with no per diem, shift work.

Role: Loader – Chemical/Bulk Handler

This role involves loading chemicals into or from tanks, trailers, rail cars, or other containers. Additional duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities include:

  • Following proper procedures for loading/unloading chemicals.
  • Using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Pumping liquids into or from tanks, trucks, or barges.
  • Verifying tank car numbers with loading instructions.
  • Connecting ground cables to prevent static buildup.
  • Removing or replacing dome caps with appropriate tools.
  • Inspecting tanks for cleanliness and leaks.
  • Operating loading spouts and gauges to verify volumes.
  • Sampling liquids for laboratory testing.
  • Sealing outlet valves and connecting hoses for unloading.
  • Testing for leaks and replacing defective parts as needed.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Employees must regularly sit, handle, reach, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Must lift up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds frequently. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception. Must pass D.O.T. physical and NASAP D.O.T. test.
