Job summary

G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Loader to build and load pallets for delivery. You will work safely, using mechanical equipment and build sheets to ensure accurate quantities and locations.

High School or GED is required; 0–1 year of material handling in a warehouse is preferred. You will also help maintain cleanliness, stock items, and support the team as needed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of warehouse and food distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with beverage industry operations.
  • Ability to provide internal customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Build pallets accurately by identifying location and quantity on build sheets.
  • Utilize mechanical equipment to load pallets onto trucks as requested.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness per OSHA, AIB, Pepsi standards and PPE rules.
  • Stack products and pallets to ensure stability and safety.
  • Communicate status of work and issues with supervisor and team.
  • Notify restocker of stock outages and assist in replenishment.
  • Train new employees in Warehouse Loader duties.

Essential Functions
  • Builds pallets of product accurately by identifying proper location and quantity of product requested on build sheets.
  • Utilizes mechanical equipment to load pallets onto truck; ensures that each pallet is loaded correctly onto the correct truck as requested on build sheets.
  • Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. OSHA and safety requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, Federal/State/Local laws); wears all personal protective equipment.
  • Stacks products and builds pallets according to established standards to ensure stability and safety of pallets.
  • This position involves handling, stocking, and organizing alcoholic products.
  • Communicates with co-workers, supervisor and management team verbally regarding the status of work activities (e.g. loading process) and G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. other information; supervisor regarding questions or issues with daily assignments; works with Load Auditors and Warehouse Management Team to resolve problems, errors and mis-picks.
  • Maintains cleanliness and assists in the organization of the warehouse (e.g. cuts away shrink wrap from pallets, gathers damaged materials, cleans up spills, stocks and fills storage racks).
  • Moves and parks trucks in order to maintain efficient and timely loading process.
  • Completes equipment safety checklists, build sheet forms, time-off requests and other required paperwork according to established standards.
  • Notifies restocker of stock outages so that product can be replenished on staging racks
  • Trains new employees to perform Warehouse Loader job duties.
  • Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
Education Level

High School or GED

Experience

Years of Experience – 0 – 1 years of material handling experience in a warehouse environment; previous food/beverage warehouse experience strongly preferred.

Additional Requirements

Knowledge of: warehouse/food distribution environment; beverage industry. Skill in: internal customer service. Ability to: count accurately; read (e.g. load sheets) and write; work independently, quickly and efficiently; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working relationships; adapt to change; operate mechanical equipment; perform basic math functions; multi-task.
