United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) is hiring for a Loader at one of our distribution centers in the United States. You will verify product details, load pallets for trucks, and move goods using electric pallet jacks and forklifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age due to equipment operation.
• Prior shipping/receiving or stock clerk experience is desirable.
• Must be able to lift cases up to 90 pounds.
• Able to read labels and correctly stack/load product into trucks.
• Good judgment and ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Counts, sorts and verifies product descriptions and store numbers of items being loaded.
• Examines pallets to ensure correct shrink wrap.
• Stores product in bins, on floor, or on shelves according to identifying information.
• Reports adjustments to inventory counts, spoilage or damage, and location changes.
• Transports product through the warehouse using electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Maintains loading performance standards for speed, accuracy, and safety.
• Assists other departments during peak workloads or absences.

Job Overview:

Verify correct product and load pallets in stop sequence, combining pallets by decking and hand stacking.

What does it mean to be a part of the Loading team?

In these essential roles, you will work directly with the inventory department, Supervisors and leads to verify quantities of product received and loaded onto trucks at the distribution centers. These roles have a strong understanding of products that we carry, all receiving/loading procedures and back stock. This team ensures that products are in the proper staging locations so we can efficiently receive and load trucks with products accurately while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

The Loader position is responsible for loading products into truck trailers by operating electric pallet jacks. Other responsibilities will include hand stacking products, labeling pallets, wrapping pallets and securing the load within the trailer.

Pay & Schedule:

• Wednesday- Friday 12PM (Noon) Start + Overtime day

• $22.75/hr
• $2.00/hr differential for Weekends
• $2.00/hr premium for Freezer environment (if applicable)

Job Responsibilities:

• Stores product in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information.
• Reports adjustments to inventory counts, spoilage or damage to stock, location changes, and out of stocks.
• Transports product throughout warehouse via electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Maintains loading performance standards of speed and accuracy with minimum damage and maximum safety, while being mindful of weight distribution on the trailer.
• Assists other department personnel in the performance of work activities when peak workloads require or during absences of division personnel.

Job Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age due to equipment operation.
• Prior experience as a shipping, receiving, or stock clerk is highly desirable.
• Must be able to lift cases of various weight and sizes up to 90 pounds.
• Must be able to read labels and make decisions on properly stacking and loading product into trucks.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available

Work Environment:

• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation
• Ability to do repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements required.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work-related equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• Onsite Role: This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.
