Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a skilled operator for overhead cranes and forklifts at its Terre Haute facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the banding and packaging of coils, loading and unloading materials, and supporting basic mechanical repairs.

The ideal candidate should have experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting and possess strong mechanical aptitude, ready to work rotating shifts.

Overview

Responsible for overhead crane and forklift operation, banding, and packaging of coils throughout the plant.

Responsibilities

• Overhead crane operation
• Operation of scanners/inventory systems
• Banding and or packaging of coils
• Forklift operation
• Loading/unloading of both truck and rail
• Assist with basic mechanical/electrical repair
• General housekeeping
• Completion of all required safety, production, and quality documents
• Assist/cross-train wherever necessary to maintain production levels throughout the facility

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting, rotating shifts, overhead crane and forklift operation, and good mechanical aptitude.
