Job summary

Eastman, a global specialty materials company, is seeking a Loading Technician in Milton, FL. Responsibilities

• Safely operate loading equipment within safe operating ranges and using proper PPE.
• Monitor tank levels, displays and instrumentation; respond quickly to issues.
• Load tank trucks, railcars, and ISO containers safely and efficiently.
• Maintain continuous focus on safe work practices and plant performance.
• Climb ladders to access equipment and vessels; perform routine checks.
• Draw product samples for lab testing.
• Reject trucks not meeting requirements and document reasons.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and initiate work permits.
• Participate in site Total Safety Process and, if needed, site fire/rescue crews.

Responsibilities

Safety is our top priority at Eastman. As a loading technician, you will contribute to operational excellence by ensuring safe and reliable material transfers, DOT shipping compliance, environmental compliance, and customer satisfaction. Loading technicians are responsible for safely loading tank trucks, railcars, and ISO containers. Communication and teamwork are essential, as is the ability to take initiative and act with integrity.

This position directly reports to the Team Manager. This role follows a day shift, rotating schedule that includes required weekends. Individuals in this role will be required to work overtime on some off days.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain a continuous focus on safe work practices and optimal plant performance for assigned area
• Safely operate loading equipment, including pumps, totalizer meters, and other plant equipment within safe operating ranges using proper PPE
• Monitor tank levels, displays, and instrumentation; safely and quickly respond to issues
• Ability to handle stressful situations and react promptly and safely
• Safely start up, shut down, and adjust operations processes
• Climb ladders to access equipment and vessels
• Draw product samples for lab testing
• Reject trucks if requirements dictate
• Perform minor maintenance work on equipment
• Initiate work permits
• Active participation and compliance with the site Total Safety Process
• Participation on the site fire crew and the site rescue crew, if needed

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certification in Process Technology or Advanced Manufacturing (or related field) OR high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing role
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must be able to complete the training program requirements and pass the required testing
• Must be able to complete trackmobile railcar mover and groundman railcar switching training
• Basic computer skills required. SAP experience is a plus.
• Must have a Zero-Incident safety mindset
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment
• Experience with CFR.49 is a plus
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
• Good oral and written communication skills. Must be a strong listener with the ability to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to wear all required PPE, including flame-retardant clothing, chemical splash suit, and full-faced respirator
• Willing to work outdoors in less than ideal weather conditions
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights above 100 ft. with appropriate safety equipment
• Ability to squat, bend, reach, and enter confined spaces
• Must be able to lift heavy items, occasionally up to 50 pounds
