Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Load Out Person to join our Leland Yard team in Leland, North Carolina. This role focuses on safely loading and unloading railcars, yard switching, and assisting with track and equipment upkeep.

The candidate should be safety conscious, dependable and motivated, with the ability to perform daily maintenance on equipment and participate in plant operations. Weekend work may be required as per shift needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
• Experience in conveyor and/or mobile equipment maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload railcars safely and efficiently.
• Ensure materials are loaded/unloaded and stockpiled per quality requirements.
• Keep plant areas clean; perform sweeping, painting and general cleanup.
• Perform daily preventive and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment.
• Operate equipment and assist in rail operations as needed.
• Complete pre/post-shift inspections and maintain maintenance logs.
• Assist with repairs on plant and mobile equipment, including some welding.
• Support plant operations including production, QC, loading and shipping.
• Maintain good housekeeping in all areas of responsibility.
• Assist in training co-workers as needed.
• Take on other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Martin Marietta is seeking a Load Out Person to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be position is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and/or unloading railcars, rail yard switching, preparing rail-cars for loading and/or unloading and performing some track and equipment maintenance. The Load Out Person will also be cross trained to operate various types of heavy equipment.

Leland Yard

Leland, North Carolina

Hours: 6AM - 4PM, weekends as necessary

A typical day for a(n) Load Out Person may include:

• Loading and/or unloading railcars in a safe and efficient manner
• Ensuring all materials are loaded and/or unloaded and stockpiled to meet all quality control requirements
• Shoveling, sweeping, picking up trash, painting and performing general cleanup of plant areas and locomotive operations
• Performing daily preventative maintenance and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment under the guidance of designated personnel
• Operating equipment and performs other tasks within rail operations
• Performing daily pre/post-shift inspections on equipment and maintains maintenance log
• Performing maintenance or repairs on all plant and mobile equipment including some welding
• Participating in plant operations including production, quality control, loading and shipping
• Maintaining good housekeeping in areas of responsibility
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You may be a good fit if you:

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Having experience in conveyor and/or mobile equipment maintenance is a plus
