Job Description: Material Handler

Under general supervision, performs routine loading and unloading of materials within the yard or work site; assembles load packages into trucks for delivery to customer job sites.

1. Loading and Unloading: Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles, and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
2. Material Movement: Drives various lifting devices (e.g., forklift) to move products, equipment, or materials around the warehouse, shop, or yard.
3. Load Building: Performs load-building, determining the appropriate weight, composition, and placement of the load based on customer order and vehicle capacity to ensure safety and balance.
4. Material Conveyance: Transports materials to or from storage to designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other devices.
5. Identification and Labeling: Attaches tags or labels to materials or marks information on containers for proper identification.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED, and three months of experience performing similar tasks, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift certification required.
