Job summary

NextDecade is seeking an Optimization Process Engineer to collaborate across departments to optimize the LNG value chain safely and reliably at the RGLNG facility near Brownsville, TX. Responsibilities include developing tools, monitoring production, and guiding commissioning, start-up, and steady state operations.

The role requires a strong background in LNG processing, plant optimization, and leadership, with travel for meetings or training as needed.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or extensive engineering experience with a focus on process engineering or operations.
• Minimum 5 years of LNG experience.
• Ability to acquire TWIC credentials.
• Experience in plant optimization.
• Extensive natural gas and LNG process operations experience.
• Experience in influencing, mentoring, coaching, and supporting a diverse team.
• Knowledge of APCI liquefaction process.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of computer-based maintenance programs.
• Adaptability to changing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safety-first attitude and lead safety initiatives.
• Review performance and develop tools.
• Provide technical guidance to safely optimize the value chain.
• Review production events and maintain loss database and emissions data.
• Contribute to planning activities and benchmarking exercises.
• Maintain the Production Databook.
• Ensure compliance with RGLNG procedures and policies.
• Update documents related to plant optimization and loss management.
• Collaborate with Engineering on improvement initiatives.
• Provide inputs into MOCs for production optimization and risk reduction.
• Use dynamic simulator to validate improvement recommendations.
• Recommend and facilitate performance tests.
• Travel for meetings or training as needed.
