Job summary

NextDecade Corporation seeks an Optimization Process Engineer to partner across disciplines at the RGLNG facility near Brownsville, Texas. The role develops tools, monitors production, and guides commissioning, start-up, and steady-state operations to optimize the LNG value chain.

A safety-first mindset and strong engineering focus are essential. The position supports feed gas, unit operations, ship loading, power use, and emissions reduction, with occasional travel for meetings and training.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or extensive engineering experience with a focus on process engineering or operations.
• Minimum 5 years LNG experience
• TWIC eligibility or ability to obtain TWIC
• Experience in plant optimization and LNG process operations
• Knowledge of APCI liquefaction process and applicable codes/regulations
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide constructive feedback for tool improvement
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and CMMS/maintenance programs
• Adaptability to changing deadlines and priorities

Responsibilities

• Maintain a ‘Safety First’ attitude and lead safety initiatives.
• Review and monitor performances, deviations, and develop optimization tools.
• Provide technical guidance to safely optimize the value chain including feed gas, units, production, and ship loading.
• Review production events, maintain loss databases, identify opportunities, and validate emission events.
• Contribute to planning and benchmarking activities and maintain the Production Databook.
• Ensure compliance with RGLNG procedures and update documents related to plant optimization and loss management.
• Work with Engineering to identify and implement improvement initiatives and projects.
• Contribute inputs into MOCs for production optimization and risk reductions.
• Utilize dynamic simulator to validate process improvement recommendations; support performance tests.
• May require travel for meetings and training.
