Job summary

Interior Gas Utility (IGU) in Fairbanks, Alaska, is seeking a qualified engineer to support the design and technical integrity of LNG storage facilities. The role focuses on design and analysis, including code analysis, piping design, and preparation of bid/contract documents.

The engineer will also troubleshoot operational issues, develop engineered solutions, review proposals, and update drawings and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience in the oil & gas, natural gas, or utilities industry.
• Working knowledge of LNG and piping codes (NFPA 59A, ASME B31.3/B31.8, API, 49 CFR Part 193).
• Experience in piping design, bid/contract documents, and review of contractor proposals.

Responsibilities

• Perform code analysis to confirm compliance with LNG storage and piping codes.
• Develop and analyze piping designs for LNG facilities, including layout and materials.
• Prepare bid and contract documents with specifications and cost estimates.
• Review contractor proposals and submittals for technical adequacy and design alignment.
• Update P&IDs and drawings to reflect changes.
• Assist in reviewing operating and maintenance procedures.
