Capital District Psychiatric Center in New York is recruiting Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW) for the Crisis Intervention Unit. Qualifications

• Licensed LMSW in NYS or eligible for transfer under NYS rules.
• Crisis intervention or related clinical experience preferred.
• Willingness to work evening and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Completing psychiatric assessments with physicians to determine inpatient need.
• Providing verbal de-escalation and participating in interventions.
• Triaging phone calls and providing telephonic crisis response.
• Securing inpatient beds for individuals in need and facilitating transfers.
• Working with insurers to obtain preauthorization for inpatient admission.
• Connecting individuals to outpatient services at discharge.
• Assisting in training and orientation of new staff and interns.
