Basic Job Functions:

The responsibility of the LMF Assistant includes but is not limited to; assisting the team with the safe and accurate operations and/or maintenance of either LMF, depending on need. This will require clear communications with teammates in the Melt Shop and may include contractors at times. This position will be responsible for taking and analyzing heats to determine chemistry requirements for orders, which will also require the ability to quickly adapt and make accurate and cost-effective decisions for the best possible outcome. This position will work in an extremely hot environment. The LMF Operator Assistant will be expected to work nights, weekends, holidays, and cover shift when needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Greater than 6 months prior Melt Shop operational experience
