Job summary

The Lemont Refinery is seeking a Construction/Maintenance Planning intern in Finance. The paid 12-week summer program will expose you to refinery processes and safe work practices under supervision, located on-site at the Lemont, Illinois refinery.

Expected hourly pay ranges from $22.47 to $32.38, with a 40-hour work week. A final internship summary/presentation is required at term end, and the application deadline is October 10, 2026.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in Construction Management Bachelor's Degree program.
• Must be at least a sophomore status in college (completion of freshman year).
• Must have overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Available to work forty hours (40) per week.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• TWIC Eligibility required per access rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist or perform maintenance duties including planning, scheduling, ordering material for scope per worklist and repair requests for daily operations or project/outages.
• Assist with schedule development interfacing with execution contractor to maximize schedule and minimize manpower and cost.
• Work with Operations, Reliability Engineering, Process Engineering, Inspection and Safety to solve daily challenges of safe and reliable plant operation, including site visits and project scoping.

Job Summary

The Lemont Refinery is searching for a Construction/Maintenance Planning intern who will become familiar with the refinery organization and work processes while learning refinery safe work practices. The intern will work on various projects throughout the refinery under the direction of a more senior planner or manager. This position is a paid 12-week summer internship. A presentation covering all aspects of the internship experience and accomplishments will be expected at the end of the term. This position is located on-site at the CITGO Refinery in Lemont, Illinois.

Job Duties

• Work with integrated team of Operations, Reliability Engineering, Process Engineering, Inspection and Safety to solve daily challenges of a safe and reliable plant operation. Site visits may include witnessing of site activities and scoping and verification for projects.
• Complete End of Internship Summary and presentation.
