Job summary

Hallbrook Country Club in Leawood, KS is seeking a full-time kitchen team member to open the line, check in and put away vendor orders, and set up breakfast and lunch production. You will prepare items expeditiously for member orders and maintain a clean, organized station.

Work includes receiving deliveries, FIFO storage, sanitation, and assisting with specials. Prior kitchen experience and reliable attendance are required; candidates should have transportation to and from the club.

Qualifications

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Certification in food safety, or willingness to obtain certification, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive punctually in provided uniform at scheduled time.
  • Prepares food for daily service using approved recipes and standards.
  • Receive and inspect deliveries; store food using FIFO and standard methods.
  • Cover, date, and store meats, poultry and seafood properly.
  • Clean and sanitize the production line.
  • Notify supervisor of shortages in advance.
  • Prepare or assist with employee meals.
  • Check station lists at shift start and end; assist with banquet prep as needed.
  • Coordinate with supervisor on weekly specials and production needs.
  • Suggest maintenance or upkeep for broiler area and equipment.
  • Attend staff meetings; assist with other duties as instructed by supervisor.

SUMMARY

Open kitchen, check in and put away orders from vendors, set up line for breakfast/lunch production and prepare food items ordered by members in an expeditious manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Arrive at work dressed in the provided uniform at scheduled time.
  • Prepares food for daily a la carte service using approved recipes and standards.
  • Receiving and inspecting deliveries from vendors. Properly store food items using FIFO and standardized methods listed in culinary onboarding packet.
  • Covers, dates, and neatly stores all meats, poultry and seafood.
  • Cleans and sanitizes the production line.
  • Notifies supervisor in advance of all expected shortages.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing employee meal.
  • Check station production lists at the beginning and end of shift including assigned banquet preparation.
  • Check with supervisor about weekly specials and production items needed to execute them.
  • Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the broiler area and equipment.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Assists with other duties as instructed by supervisor.
Safety and Sanitation
  • Responsible for consistent use of safe work practices by all restaurant, banquet, pastry and dish staff.
  • Understand and consistently follow proper sanitation practices including those for personal hygiene.
  • Ensure the daily opening checklist has been completed prior to leaving.
  • Ensures storage areas (coolers included) are labeled, clean and free of debris.
  • Ensure food storage areas are secured prior to leaving the building.
QUALFICATIONS
  • Must have a reliable transportation method to and from work.
  • Previous professional kitchen experience 1 year.
  • Certified in food safety, or desires to be certified.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work in a busy environment while maintaining organization, attention to detail and focusing on cleanliness.
  • Ability to be on feet for up to 100% of the prescribed shift.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, able to stand, bend, stoop, twist and turn for prolonged periods of time.
  • The position will require working inside and outside various times of the year.
