Talladega College seeks a Living Learning Community Manager to supervise the designated residence hall and coordinate daily residential life operations. The role is 10 months, live off campus, with on-call requirements in evenings and weekends.

This fixed-term appointment renews yearly based on performance. Reporting to the Director of Housing, you will build strong relationships across Residence Life & Housing to support department operations and enrollment strategies.

Job Summary:

The Living Learning Community Manager reports to the Director of Housing of Living Learning Community & in coordination with the AVP with the primary duties of supervising the designated residence hall's daily functions of residential life and compiling accurate reporting information. The Living Learning Community Manager is on-call for crisis/emergency situations. Acts as a resource for Residence Life & Housing and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions. This is 10 months live off campus position with evening and weekend on – call duty employment responsibilities. This is a fixed-term;live-off annual appointment renewed yearly. Appointment will be made on an annual basis, determined by continual satisfactory performance.

Job Duties:
  • Assume responsibility for the operation of the assigned residence hall
  • Assist in building security
  • Assist in staff selection and training of new employees within the Residence Hall
  • Supervise student workers as well as schedule floor and desk hours
  • Evaluates performance of employees and recommends any personnel actions to Assistant Dean of Living Learning Community or Assistant Vice President Living Learning Community
  • Complete all required reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Gain expertise and remain current in knowledge of appropriate programs
  • Embrace recruitment and retention efforts of the department and university, and support enrollment strategies
  • Participate as a member of the Council of Housing Coordinators
  • Maintain budget for Hall's Activity Funds
  • Specific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the supervisor which could include such things as assisting in building security, conduct regular inspections of the residence hall to ensure the maintenance of the facility and report deficiencies, direct programming activities, and enforce rules and regulations
