H2ajobs is seeking a seasonal ranch worker to perform 100% cattle/cow/calf operations from December to May, focusing on feeding, calving, branding and calf care. The job requires outdoor work in extreme temperatures, with lifting up to 50 lbs and 3 months of verifiable experience.
Employer provides housing and meals, plus transportation arrangements. During the summer, cattle return to pasture with less daily work.
SOC 45-2093—100% of the work involves cattle/cow/calf operations on the ranch during the winter and spring confinement and calving season from December to May, when the grass in the pastures has stopped growing and snow covers the fields, requiring cattle to be brought in from pasture and kept in confinement. During this period, the work centers on daily feeding and care of the cows and calves, with cows confined to calving pens while calving out the cows and heifers. The employee assists the cows during calving and supports the handling of calves through branding and vaccinating, then helps move the cattle to the summer pasture after the calving season ends. After May, the cows are moved back to grass pastures and no further feeding or care is needed until the next seasonal cycle.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration), cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities (e.g. adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure) that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will offer free transportation to town for personal services (i.e. banking, groceries) at least once per week for non range workers.
Transport: The employer will pay the worker for reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad to the place of employment (inbound/outbound). The employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved.
Experience wanted: 3 months
Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must possess a valid, standard, non-commercial driver's license (e.g., Class C, D, R, E, F or 3 depending on state). Employee must have 3 months of verifiable experience.
