The Oregon Department of Agriculture is seeking a part-time Livestock Brand Inspector in Brand District 3, based in Madras, OR. This role involves inspecting livestock brands and ownership documents for animals moved interstate, and issuing brand inspection certificates while collecting fees.

The successful candidate will join the Agriculture Services Division, work primarily at the auction yard on Mondays and Sundays, perform occasional country inspections, and may assist in investigations of

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in the livestock industry.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Work availability on Mondays and Sundays.
• Live within 20 miles of Madras, OR.
• Ability to regularly lift objects 50–60 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Inspect livestock brands and documentation of ownership for livestock purchased, sold, slaughtered, or transported interstate.
• Issue brand inspection certificates and collect fees.
• Participate in investigations of estray livestock.
• Conduct other Agriculture Services Division activities, including commodity inspections and sample collection.
