Job summary

Glynwood is seeking dedicated apprentices for a Livestock Apprentice role, offering a structured hands-on program with exposure to herd management, breeding, slaughter prep, and farm operations.

Apprentices receive a private room in a shared house, paid holidays, healthcare reimbursement, and a 30% discount on Glynwood products, plus 200 educational hours and outdoor work experience for at least 3 months.

Qualifications

• At least 3 consecutive months of outdoor, physically demanding work experience.
• Some professional livestock handling experience.
• Preference for farming experience of at least one full season.
• Valid US Driver License in good standing.
• Proficiency with Google Suite (word processing, spreadsheets, email, calendar).
• Comfort using a smartphone and apps to track grazing and animal health.
• Clear verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Hoof trimming for hoof health and pasture care.
• Cattle & sheep breeding activities.
• Meat inventory & CSA management responsibilities.
• Rotational grazing & pasture monitoring.
• Poultry processing tasks as needed.
• Calving & lambing support and tasks.
• Vet skills and basic animal health checks.
• Egg washing and packing.
