Job summary

FOX News Media is seeking an Audio Assistant/A2 for our New York operations. This freelance role works with the FNC/FBN audio team on daily live and live-to-tape content at our New York facility.

You will mic guests, assist in maintaining audio gear, and help with studio furniture and set pieces. The position demands flexibility across hours and days, with strong communication and troubleshooting skills required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a television studio operation or field environment.
• Ability to react quickly to changing requirements.
• Knowledge of RF frequencies and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with microphone techniques for field and studio.
• Understanding of microphone cabling and IFB wiring.
• Willingness to work varied hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Mic guests for live and as-live production.
• Assist in the maintenance of audio equipment under the direction of the A1.
• Move and organize furniture and set pieces in the studio prior to and following the shoot.
• Provide immediate solutions in the event of equipment failure or other audio problems.
• Other tasks as directed by the A1 or manager.
• Strong communication skills are a requirement.
