Job summary

Cedar Fair Entertainment Company in Illinois is seeking a skilled technical theatre professional to operate the light board, audio console, and special effects for live shows and events at the park.

You will ensure shows run on time and as designed by production staff, perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on sound and lighting systems, assist rehearsals, and help guests before and after performances.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of technical theater, including theater safety, audio and lighting systems, special effects, maintenance and repair.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for the length of shift.
• Shifts are dependent on production needs.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be professional, self-motivated, the ability to multi-task and have an enthusiastic attitude.
• Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Operate light board, audio console, and special effects for shows and events in the park.
• Perform all shows on time and as designed by Full Time Management.
• Execute cue as set by the Production Staff and Full Time Management.
• Provide basic troubleshooting and maintenance for sound system, lighting system, and special effects equipment.
• Be involved in rehearsal and operation of productions under the direction of Production Staff.
• Navigate in, on, or around scenic elements during production in potentially dark spaces.
• Maintain clean and safe atmosphere in all areas of a venue and wear park uniform.
• Immediately report unsafe acts to the unit Stage Manager.
• Train new personnel as needed.
