ThredUp is seeking a Live Selling Host to present secondhand fashion via live-stream shopping platforms. This onsite role in Lancaster, TX requires two or more hours on camera with audience engagement and strong product knowledge.

You will review inventory, highlight item details, and drive sales while coordinating with merchandising teams. Experience in live selling or content creation is a plus.

Pay Rate: $25-$35/hour + 2% commission on net sales

Duration: Ongoing, with schedule expansion as the program grows

Hours: Part-time, approximately 20-25 hours per week

Summary

We are seeking an engaging, confident, and energetic Live Selling Host to present secondhand fashion and accessories through live-stream shopping platforms. In this role, you will showcase curated inventory, connect with viewers in real time, and help drive sales by highlighting each item's brand, quality, condition, fit, and styling potential.

The ideal candidate is comfortable on camera for extended periods, has a genuine interest in fashion and resale, and can create an entertaining, interactive shopping experience. Candidates with live-selling experience are encouraged to apply, as well as those with backgrounds in content creation, social media, retail, styling, theater, dance, improv, comedy, or other performance-based environments.

What You'll Do

• Host live-stream shopping shows on platforms such as Whatnot and other live-selling channels
• Review, select, and prepare inventory before each show, becoming familiar with product details, including brand, size, condition, and pricing
• Present apparel and accessories clearly, highlighting fabric, fit, quality, condition, potential flaws, styling ideas, and overall value
• Maintain an engaging pace and consistent energy throughout live shows to encourage viewer participation and sales
• Respond to viewer questions and comments in real time while keeping the show organized and moving smoothly
• Demonstrate strong product knowledge and communicate the appeal of secondhand fashion to a live audience
• Monitor customer interest and sales performance, identifying popular items, emerging trends, and viewer requests
• Share relevant sales observations and product feedback with merchandising and related teams
• Work in a fast-paced distribution center environment, handling inventory and preparing products for live presentation

What You Bring

• Confidence and comfort presenting on camera for two or more hours while maintaining energy and audience engagement
• Strong verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Genuine interest in fashion, secondhand shopping, resale, and sustainability
• Knowledge of fashion brands, fabrics, fit, garment quality, and styling
• Ability to think quickly, respond naturally to questions, and adapt to live audience interactions
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when preparing and presenting products
• Comfort working onsite in a warehouse or distribution center environment, including standing for extended periods and handling inventory
• Familiarity with digital platforms and technology used for live streaming and online sales
• Ability to review sales activity, recognize product trends, and communicate observations effectively

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience hosting live-selling shows on Whatnot, TikTok Shop, eBay Live, or similar platforms
• Experience creating social media content or presenting on camera
• A background in theater, acting, dance, improv, comedy, broadcasting, or other performance-based activities
• Experience in retail, fashion merchandising, personal styling, resale, or secondhand apparel
• Experience engaging online audiences, building community, or supporting e-commerce sales
• Familiarity with data analysis, AI-enabled workflows, or tools used to support digital commerce

Schedule

• This is an onsite opportunity based in Lancaster, TX.
• Anticipated schedule is approximately 20-25 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as the program expands.
• Scheduling options may include mornings, midday, evenings, and weekends. Candidates available exclusively on weekends are welcome to apply.
• Show times are being finalized, and flexibility across available time slots is beneficial.

Compensation

• Anticipated base rate of $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Additional commission of 2% on net sales generated during live shows, paid monthly.
• For example, a host generating $5,000 in net sales during a show would earn an additional $100 in commission for that show.
• Opportunities for additional shows and increased earning potential as the program grows.

Interview Process

Candidates may be asked to complete a short video prescreen and participate in an onsite case study to demonstrate their on-camera presence, product knowledge, communication skills, and ability to engage an audience.
