Job summary

Hormel Foods Internship Program offers hands-on experience in turkey growout and breeder production, working with industry professionals at multiple on-site locations in Byron, MN and surrounding areas. You'll manage flock performance, assist with data analysis, and complete an independent project aligned with business needs.

Qualifications

• Must graduate in Aug 2027, Dec 2027, or May 2028 and major in Agriculture, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agribusiness, Business, or related field.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to assigned work locations.
• Authorized to work in the United States for any employer; does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily management and performance of growout and breeder flocks, including health, welfare, biosecurity, and production objectives.
• Monitor and analyze key production metrics, labor utilization, and expenses for cost-effective flock management.
• Partner with farm managers and production leaders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in bird performance and care.
• Participate in breeder flock activities: monitoring, egg collection, hatchability, and reproductive performance management.
• Gain exposure to production planning, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
