Job summary

Scopely is seeking a Live Ops Manager to lead MARVEL Strike Force operations from Canada (remote) or Mexico City (hybrid). You will turn strategy into executable plans, coordinate with events and monetization, and manage our Live Ops partner to ensure timely, high-quality launches.

You will use data to inform delivery, build templates and checklists, and drive continuous improvement with Jira, SQL, and AI-powered tooling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in live operations, product operations, production, product management, or a comparable execution-focused role in mobile or free-to-play games.
• Strong ownership and detail orientation across multiple deadlines and workstreams.
• Experience translating high-level direction into precise tickets, requirements, and acceptance criteria; Jira preferred.
• Ability to evaluate configuration accuracy against player value and business outcomes.
• Comfort managing external partners or distributed teams with clear delegation and escalation.
• Strong analytical skills and data-informed decision making; SQL proficiency preferred.
• Demonstrated comfort using AI tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, QA, and workflow improvement.
• Clear written and verbal communication with product, economy, analytics, production, and implementation partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic QA: review configured content for accuracy, player value, and alignment with monetization strategy.
• Coordinate across Live Ops: resolve conflicts across overlapping workstreams and align with the monthly plan.
• Improve operating systems: create templates, checklists, and repeatable workflows to speed up implementation.
• Use data to inform delivery: analyze performance data and player segmentation to support post-launch reviews.

Scopely is looking for a Live Ops Manager to join our MARVEL Strike Force team in Canada on a remote basis or Mexico City on a hybrid basis.

MARVEL Strike Force is Scopely's squad-based Hero Collector RPG, housing heroes and villains across the Marvel Universe.

What You Will Do

You will be the operational bridge between Live Ops strategy and high-quality in-game execution. You will gather requirements from the events and monetization teams, translate them into executable plans and configurable designs, and manage work across our Live Ops implementation partner. The role is accountable not only for accurate configuration, but also for ensuring that offers, events, milestones, and rewards remain complementary to the broader strategy and value proposition.

• Translate Strategy into Execution: Turn high-level designs for offers, events, milestones, rewards, and other Live Ops components into clear Jira tickets, configuration specifications, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans
• Manage the Implementation Partner: Prioritize, delegate, and track work across our Live Ops implementation partner, ensuring that owners, dependencies, timing, and escalation paths are clear
• Own Execution Readiness: Maintain a reliable view of upcoming launches, confirm that requirements and assets are complete, and drive issues to resolution before they create player-facing or business risk
• Provide Strategic and Value Quality Assurance: Review configured content for technical accuracy, player value, internal consistency, and alignment with the intended engagement and monetization strategy
• Coordinate Across Live Ops: Gather direction from events and monetization product managers, resolve conflicts across overlapping workstreams, and ensure that individual components reinforce the overall monthly plan
• Improve Operating Systems: Create and refine templates, checklists, documentation, and repeatable workflows that increase implementation speed, reduce errors, and make execution easier to scale
• Use Data to Inform Delivery: Use performance data and player segmentation to understand the intent behind requirements, validate implementation choices, and support post-launch reviews
• Accelerate Through Artificial Intelligence: Use artificial intelligence tools, including Codex and ChatGPT, to develop requirements, analyze data, create documentation, identify inconsistencies, and improve execution quality

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years experience in live operations, product operations, production, product management, or a comparable execution-focused role in mobile or free-to-play games
• A high-ownership, hardworking operating style and a strong desire to grow a career in mobile game product management
• Exceptional organization, follow-through, and attention to detail across multiple concurrent deadlines and workstreams
• Experience translating ambiguous or high-level direction into precise tickets, requirements, and acceptance criteria; familiarity with Jira is strongly preferred
• The judgment to evaluate both configuration accuracy and whether an implementation supports the intended player and business outcomes
• Comfort managing external partners or distributed implementation teams through clear delegation, prioritization, feedback, and escalation
• Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to inform events and monetization requirements; Structured Query Language (SQL) proficiency is preferred
• Demonstrated comfort using artificial intelligence tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, quality assurance, and workflow improvement
• Clear written and verbal communication with product, economy, analytics, production, and implementation partners

Bonus Points

• Hands-on experience with SQL, BigQuery, Looker, or comparable analytics tools
• Experience designing milestone systems, event rewards, or progression-based monetization in a role-playing game or Hero Collector
• A deep understanding of the Marvel intellectual property and its player community

For candidates in British Columbia, the annual salary range is provided below. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for equity, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
