Job summary
WKRG-TV News 5 in Mobile seeks a Director/Technical Director to lead live and pre-recorded newscasts and productions across broadcast, digital streaming, and social platforms. The role blends studio direction with on-location shoots and requires strong technical and editorial decision-making.

Qualifications
- Hands-on experience as the director/technical-director of live newscasts, breaking news, and severe weather coverage preferred.
- Experience in production, broadcasting, digital content, social media and/or journalism preferred.
- Academic degree or technical certification in Production, Digital Media, Film, Journalism, or related field; or equivalent experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute regularly scheduled live and pre-recorded newscasts, programs, and segments across all platforms.
- Lead planning and execution of live breaking and severe weather coverage with urgency and accuracy.
- Edit video for newscasts, programs, and digital distribution; ensure content meets quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and maintain studio equipment and set elements; coordinate with teams across departments.
