Job summary

Hearst Television in Sacramento is seeking an Operations Director to manage the technical execution of live and live-to-tape newscasts. This role directs talent, operates graphics and playback, and oversees robotic camera control, reporting to the News Operations Manager.

Requirements include 2+ years in studio production/directing for a commercial TV station, experience with broadcast gear, and flexibility for varied shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of studio production and/or directing in a commercial TV environment.
• Experience operating switchers, audio boards, and cameras.
• Ability to handle time-sensitive live production pressures.
• Willing to work varied shifts including weekends/holidays.
• Experience with ENPS, Viz RT graphics and Bitcentral playback is a plus.
• Bilingual experience is a plus.
• Military experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the visual direction of newscasts.
• Provide creative input and collaborate with the newscast producer and crew.
• Ensure clean technical execution of the newscast look.
• Call and punch a newscast.
