Job summary

Paramount Pictures is seeking a New York-based WGA Line Producer for CBS News Streaming to join our 24/7 news coverage team. This role targets editorially driven producers who thrive in a fast-paced, live environment.

You will line-produce editorial content, shape show flow, guide the control room, and collaborate with assignment, writing and digital teams to deliver accurate, engaging programming. The position requires strong news judgment and in-person work at the CBS Broadcast Center.

Qualifications

• 5+ years producing and writing for a national broadcast, cable or streaming network or equivalent local TV news in a major market.
• Command of AP style and broadcast writing with impeccable grammar and spelling.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple assignments for regular programming and rolling breaking news coverage.
• Superior news judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in journalism or related field.
• Fluency using ENPS.
• Deep knowledge of news standards, rights and clearances and fact-checking practices.
• Must pass CBS News Digital writing test.
• Must be available to work all shifts and in-person at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York.

Responsibilities

• Line produce editorial news content and shape show flow in a fast-paced environment.
• Work from the control room to guide shows in and out of breaks and determine air timing.
• Coordinate with assignment desk to request correspondents and guests.
• Order graphics and use video to create engaging news programs.
• Direct a team of writers, associate producers and digital staff to build original content and repurpose material.
• Write teases, headlines, opening packages and lower-thirds for live programming.
• Mentor junior writers and coordinate with sales for ad loads in rundowns.
