Job summary

FOX6 Milwaukee is seeking a Broadcast Production Technician to support News Operations, Production, Master Control, and the full television station. You will work with producers and the control room team to deliver live, engaging, error-free newscasts using top-tier technology from day one.

This union-represented role requires a high school diploma and 1+ year of broadcast ops experience, with flexibility for weekends/holidays and the ability to learn director, audio, Robotic cameras, and TOC

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• 1+ years of experience in a broadcast operation.
• Experience or willingness to learn directing newscasts, audio ops, robotic cameras, master control, and TOC.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Clear communication; able to stay calm and act quickly under pressure; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate broadcast control room and master control equipment.
• Direct newscasts using Ross Overdrive, operate audio consoles and robotic cameras, and bring in live shots.
• Collaborate with Producers and Control Room Crew to create live, compelling, error-free newscasts.
• Perform weather and breaking news cut-ins, edit playlists, conduct EAS tests, and monitor transmitter functions per FCC rules.
• Monitor broadcast streams, insert commercials, and prepare on-air content.
