Job summary

NewsNation is seeking a freelance Audio Operator (A1) for our New York studios to support national newscasts. This role requires live broadcast mixing and collaboration with the director and the team.

Candidates should have 5+ years in live television audio, experience with remotes, RF mics, IFBs, and AZ Edit, and be able to multitask across shifts; degree preferred, IBEW membership required.

Qualifications

• Five plus (5+) years’ experience in professional live television broadcast operations.
• Previous live show audio mixing experience.
• Must work well in a collaborative team environment and multitask.
• Self-sufficient with a pro-active, press-on-regardless attitude.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Listen to director’s commands and mix a clean show during live and pre-recorded programming.
• Route good mix-minus to remotes; set up RF microphones and IFBs; proficient in AZ Edit.
• Be a problem solver and quick thinker to resolve live broadcast issues.
• Communicate and document effectively with the team.
• Schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays with overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by network leadership.
