Anchor and report on daily newscasts, handle breaking news with professionalism, and serve as a visible representative in the Northern Nevada community. Responsibilities include writing broadcast copy, reporting enterprise stories, and collaborating with the newsroom to plan coverage during ratings periods.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field preferred (high school diploma required).
Strong on-air presence and clear, conversational delivery.
Excellent writing skills for broadcast journalism.
Ability to work live on television and under deadline pressure.

Responsibilities

Anchor live newscasts with clear, confident delivery.
Write broadcast-style copy and report enterprise stories for multiple newscasts.
Respond calmly and decisively during breaking news situations.
Collaborate with producers, photographers, and the assignment desk on story content and priorities.
Develop story ideas and plan coverage for ratings periods.
Build and maintain relationships with community leaders and organizations.
Represent KTVN through community appearances and involvement.
Provide guidance to photographers and producers and help motivate the newsroom.
