Job summary

Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. is seeking an Anchor/Reporter for KTVN 2 News Nevada in Reno, NV. The role anchors and reports daily newscasts, handles breaking news, and serves as a visible representative in the Northern Nevada community.

The ideal candidate has strong on-air presence, excellent broadcast writing skills, and the ability to work under deadline pressure. This position requires occasional local travel and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism or related field.
Minimum one year of anchoring and reporting experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license, clean MVR, and reliable daily access to a vehicle; travel within listening/viewership area may be required.

Responsibilities

Anchor live newscasts with clear, confident, and engaging delivery.
Write broadcast-style copy and report enterprise stories for multiple newscasts.
Respond calmly and decisively during breaking news situations.
Collaborate with producers, photographers, and the assignment desk on story content and priorities.
Develop story ideas and plan coverage for ratings periods.
Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and organizations.
Represent KTVN through community appearances and involvement.
