Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks two-person Flex Houseparents to live on-campus and supervise a group of 8–13 students, guiding their academic, emotional, and social development.

This full-time role includes housing, meals while on duty, comprehensive benefits, paid training, and a nine-days-on / three-days-off cycle, with opportunities to transition to a placed houseparent.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married ≥2 years.
• Both spouses must be 27+.
• No more than three dependent children in home.
• Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limits: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
