Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks dedicated Flex Houseparents in a full-time, two-person couple role to provide care, mentorship, and supervision for groups of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Roles start with nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off, with transition to a stable home group over time.

The position includes mediations support, budgeting oversight, daily devotions, and Sunday Chapel participation, plus relocation and paid training.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational events.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Starting as a Flex Houseparent in multiple homes with nine days on / three days off.
• Transitioning to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group.
