Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is offering Full-time Flex Houseparent roles for married couples. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision and activities for 8–13 students.

The role progresses from initial home assignments to a placed houseparent position, with a nine days on / three days off cycle. Compensation includes per-person salary of $46,917 plus comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning/engaging in developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes on a nine-on / three-off schedule, then transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role.
