Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, is seeking Flex Houseparents to supervise and mentor students in live-in homes. This two-person role requires a married couple aged 27+ with at least two years of marriage and a strong commitment to youth development and safety.

Initial duties include managing daily routines, medications, driving students to activities, leading daily devotions, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent with ongoing responsibilities and housing.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities, and planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
