Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, is seeking Full-time Flex Houseparents for couples who will reside in on-campus student homes and care for a group of 8–13 students. You will provide daily supervision, mentorship, and lead activities to support students’ academic, emotional, and social development.

The role requires a two-person married couple (two years), both aged 27+, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes on a 9-on/3-off schedule, then moving to a placed home with the same group of students.
